Fabio Cannavaro is an Italian football manager and former defender widely regarded as one of the greatest centre-backs of his generation. As captain he led Italy to the 2006 FIFA World Cup title and that same year won the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year award. He now coaches Uzbekistan, whom he guided to the nation's first-ever World Cup appearance in 2026.
