Awie, born Ahmad Azhar bin Othman, is a Malaysian rock icon best known as the frontman of the band Wings and for a prolific solo and acting career spanning four decades. He rose to fame in the late 1980s and remains a fixture of the Malaysian entertainment scene, still touring and recording. In 2017 he was conferred the title Dato' by the state of Pahang.
