Asia Argento to receive Locarno Film Festival lifetime achievement award

The Locarno Film Festival announced that Asia Argento will receive its lifetime achievement award on August 13 on the Piazza Grande stage, per Screen International and Deadline. Artistic director Giona A. Nazzaro praised her 'radical creative calling' as both an actress and director. During the festival she will present Death Has No Master, the film she appeared in at Cannes.

Asia Argento boards Gia Carangi documentary as executive producer

The Hollywood Reporter reported that Asia Argento has signed on as executive producer of Gia - The Shadow of Beauty, the debut documentary feature by director Rosita Larocca about late American supermodel Gia Carangi. The U.S.-Italy project was presented at the Cannes market and frames Carangi as a young woman navigating fame in 1980s New York.
