Abrar-ul-Haq says the rights to some of his most iconic songs, including Nach Punjaban and Billo De Ghar, were taken without his consent and is pursuing legal action to reclaim them. Speaking in mid-2026, he alleged a London-based music company obtained the tracks through fraudulent, forged documents and profited from Nach Punjaban's use in the Bollywood film Jugg Jugg Jeeyo. Outlets including DESIblitz and Reviewit reported that he described the copyright case as straightforward and said the original song remains his property.
