Athmane Ariouet is a veteran Algerian actor widely regarded as one of the country's greatest screen performers, celebrated for the 1994 cult comedy Carnaval Fi Dachra. Active since the 1960s, he trained at the Algiers Conservatory and was decorated with the National Merit medal in 2020. In 2026 he announced a return to filmmaking as a director after decades away from the screen.
