Alla Pugacheva is a Russian singer, songwriter and actress widely regarded as the biggest pop star of the Soviet era, with sales of hundreds of millions of records. She rose to fame in the 1970s and represented Russia at the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest. Since publicly condemning the invasion of Ukraine in 2022 she has lived abroad, largely in Cyprus and Israel.
