Akshay Kumar is a Bollywood actor and film producer, born Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia on September 9, 1967, in Amritsar, Punjab. He grew up in Delhi's Chandni Chowk before his family moved to Mumbai, where he lived in Koliwada. He studied at Don Bosco School and then enrolled at Guru Nanak Khalsa College in Mumbai. After training in martial arts in Bangkok, he entered films and broke through with the 1992 action hit Khiladi, later becoming one of Hindi cinema's most versatile stars across action, comedy, and patriotic dramas. He is married to author and former actress Twinkle Khanna.
