Abhinav Bindra is a retired Indian sport shooter who made history at the 2008 Beijing Olympics by winning the 10m air rifle to become India's first individual Olympic gold medallist. A meticulous, largely self-funded marksman from Dehradun, he also holds World Championship and Commonwealth Games gold and top state honours including the Padma Bhushan. Now a businessman and sports administrator, he remains one of India's most influential figures in Olympic sport.
