Bernard Chandran is a Malaysian fashion designer and television personality widely dubbed the country's 'King of Fashion' for modernising Malay traditional dress and taking it to international runways. He founded his eponymous label in 1993 and became the first non-European to win the Open European Contest for Look of the Year in 1991. He is also known to Malaysian audiences as the chief designer on the reality series Project Runway Malaysia.
